Review Submission Guidelines

• Introduction
  • Individuals who use Japan Food Guide will be referred to as "users," regardless of whether they have registered as members or not.
    Japan Food Guide ("this site") is based on the concept of "the best food experience while traveling in Japan."
    This site aims to provide a reliable restaurant and food experience guide for users to use as a reference.
    For this reason, we publish subjective impressions and ratings from users who have used the listed restaurants and food experiences.
    
    Reviews, ratings, and all other information posted by users on this site will be referred to as "reviews."
    Please feel free to submit your reviews of both the content you were satisfied with and the things you were dissatisfied with.
    As a rule for the sound operation of platform services, we have established review posting guidelines ("guidelines") regarding matters to be observed when posting reviews.
    
    Reviews that violate these guidelines may be deleted without prior notice at our discretion, including in the cases individually stipulated below.
    Users are requested to retain the original text related to reviews.
    We are not obligated to explain the reason if we delete a review.
    We ask that users comply with these guidelines.
    
• Posting Product Reviews
  • Only users who have registered as members, using a method separately determined by our Company, can post reviews.
    Users can post one review per restaurant or food experience they use.
    Reviews can be posted from the day of your visit.
    Once a review has been posted, it cannot be reposted; users can overwrite it by editing or deleting it.
    Please note that users can only post reviews for businesses that allow online reservations, and not for those that do not offer online reservations.
    
    Also, because reviews are linked with ratings, the store's ranking in the review rankings on this site will be affected.
    The ranking is a reference index for selecting restaurants and food experiences. It is calculated based on ratings and reviews posted by users.
    Therefore, on this site, we may delete posts suspected of intentionally manipulating ratings.
    
• Please describe your own experience.
  • Reviews should contain relevant information that will be helpful to other users, and be based on real-life experiences.
    To ensure that reviews reflect actual experiences, we do not allow members who have not actually participated or non-members to post.
    When posting a review, please ensure it can be a helpful reference for other users. Try to be specific about your impressions of the restaurant or food experience.
    In order to ensure that reviews reflect the most up-to-date information, please submit all reviews within 3 months of use.
    
    *Examples of guideline violations
    There are no comments or evaluations regarding food, drinks, service, atmosphere, food experience, etc.
    Most of the text is not directly related to restaurants or food experiences.
    The content is difficult to convey due to excessive slang and blank.
    Reviews only about the service or facilities, and do not include impressions of the food, drinks, or experiences.
    
• Please refrain from posting content that may have a negative impact on businesses.
  • Reviews shared by individuals are personal opinions. As such, this site does not verify the authenticity of posted reviews.
    Therefore, it is prohibited to post content that negatively impacts businesses or events for which the truth is difficult to confirm.
    If we receive a request to delete a review from another user or business, we will check the content and may delete the review if we determine that it falls under this section.

    You will receive special treatment if you become a regular here.
    They say it's the highest quality, but it's clearly quite poor.
    
• Please take care when writing about the operation and management of the restaurants or stores.
  • If you write about the operation or management of a business, please be sure to check that the information is correct.
    If the information is incorrect, it may inconvenience the business operator, so please refrain from posting unfactual content.

    This store is a group company of XX.
    The owner of this shop is from XX.
    
• Please contact the appropriate authorities or relevant parties with complaints regarding hygiene management or violations of laws or contracts.
  • Please refrain from posting complaints about hygiene, such as hair in the food, food poisoning, unwashed dishes, pests, etc., as it is difficult to verify and may cause significant damage to the business.
    Additionally, please refrain from posting about businesses that violate laws, commit crimes, or cause trouble.
    If there are any concerns regarding hygiene, violations of laws, contracts, etc., please contact the appropriate organization or party concerned.
    
    *Examples of guideline violations
    There were bugs in the food.
    They are offering food that is prohibited from being sold or offered by law.
    I was sexually harassed by a store employee.
    An unknown amount was added to the bill.
    
• Reviews that slander individuals or lead to acts that violate laws or criminal acts are prohibited.
  • Reviews are a place for individuals to share their subjective impressions.
    Please refrain from slandering other users, businesses, and related parties, whether specific or unspecified.
    Also, please refrain from posting content that makes assumptions about, criticizes, or discriminates against a particular race.
    When posting critical content, please do not use conclusive expressions; only express your impressions subjectively.
    Furthermore, even if subjective, please refrain from criticizing individuals involved in the business or using inappropriate expressions in reviews, such as those below.
    Reviews related to acts that violate laws, pose a severe danger, are crimes or nuisances, or acts that encourage are prohibited.
    
    *Examples of guideline violations
    People who give this restaurant a high rating have crazy taste.
    The level of service is so low because they are (name of race).
    The customer next to me was noisy and lacked class.
    Like I’d ever go back to such a horrid store?
    They’re a scam, a rip-off store.
    There was no parking, so I parked on a nearby road.
    If you go in the afternoon, you can dine-and-dash.
    
• Please refrain from posting content related to complaints or trouble with the business.
  • We do not allow reviews of businesses with prior problems, as it would be difficult to make fair judgments.
    Please contact the appropriate authorities if you have any problems or concerns regarding the interpretation of purchased products or discounts, or need to provide details of your trouble.
    We may delete the review if we receive complaints from the store management stating that the review was posted by someone with whom they had trouble.
    
    *Examples of guideline violations
    They lost the baggage I checked.
    They messed up the billing.
    The restaurant was fully booked, even though I had a reservation.
    
• Please be considerate of infringement of privacy, copyright, and intellectual property rights.
  • Please avoid writing reviews about people connected to the business, such as disclosing personal history they would not want to be shared, as this may constitute an invasion of privacy.
    Also, please refrain from posting any descriptions that violate third parties' privacy.
    Reviews on this site are posted at the member's responsibility and expense; they are assumed to own all necessary rights, such as copyrights, to the posted content.
    Please be careful and thoughtful when posting.
    
    When quoting from magazines, books, etc., please clearly distinguish between the quoted portion and the text of the review and clearly indicate the source.
    However, users are responsible for determining whether the quotation in question infringes the rights of third parties under various laws and regulations, such as copyright laws.
    Please note that our Company will not be held liable under any circumstances.
    
    We implore you to post reviews about your personal experiences, and we do not allow information belonging to third parties to be included in your review.
    We will delete reviews that include the following, even if only mentioned slightly:

  • This site prohibits the posting of reviews for the purpose of receiving money, goods, or equivalent services or reviews that promote restaurants or food experiences, regardless of the content of the review.
    It is strictly forbidden for a business operator to offer compensation in exchange for deleting a posted review or to pressure, threaten, or otherwise coerce a user into deleting it.
    Please refrain from posting reviews that fall under these categories or that may be perceived as such by readers.
    If any such review is discovered, we may delete the review immediately and take appropriate action.
    
    *Examples of guideline violations
    Receiving compensation from business owners or store employees to post a review.
    Posting a review when visiting with a free invitation.
    Post a malicious review and make certain demands in exchange for deleting it.
    
• Persons affiliated with a business are prohibited from posting reviews on that store.
  • Reviews on this site are subjective impressions and opinions shared by users who have actually eaten at a restaurant or joined a food experience.
    For this reason, business operators are prohibited from posting reviews of affiliated stores.
    Please note that if our site determines that the review is from someone related to the business, we may delete the review.
    
    Please use moderation in your review.
    When posting your dissatisfaction, please use expressions considerate of other users and the business operators.
    Please note that if our site deems the review inappropriate, we may delete it.
    
    Please refrain from posting reviews that include promotional activities, etc., for business purposes.
    Please refrain from posting reviews that are promotional, advertising, solicitation, etc, for business purposes, or that may cause misunderstandings, as these do not align with the purpose of this site.
    Additionally, when posting reviews linked to blogs or SNS, please be careful that the reviews do not contain promotional content.
