Summary

This cooking class allows customers to make their own sushi under the guidance of an instructor in English.
Sushi making is inherently difficult and requires a great deal of skill, but using simple utensils, even first-timers can create beautifully shaped sushi.

Details

At the kitchen venue in Shiba Park, participants will make the following two types of sushi and eat them by themselves.

1 Nigiri-zushi (shaped sushi rice topped with ingredients such as tuna, shrimp, white fish, etc.)
2. Gunkan-zushi (hardened sushi rice topped with ingredients such as salmon roe, cod roe, and negitoro, and wrapped in nori seaweed)

Sushi making tools for beginners will be given as a souvenir.
This experience is led by at least one instructor for each small group, so you can rest assured that hygiene is taken care of.
*There is a possibility that you may be joined with other groups.

In this program, you will learn and practice hand washing and other hygiene practices that absolutely do not cause infections or food poisoning.
Then we will start making sushi. In a restaurant, sushi is made quickly by a chef, whose beautiful handiwork is both artistic and impressive.
However, when many customers actually try their hand at making nigirizushi, they realize how difficult the technique is. First of all, the rice does not harden into a round shape. But with the kits we use in our classes, the rice can be lightly packed together.
With the two combination kits we use, even beginners can make beautifully shaped sushi rolls. In our classes, we can also instruct those who want to make sushi without using the kit. Our clients make their own sushi according to their ability and wishes.
After making the sushi, they will have their own meal. Throughout the meal and afterwards, our instructors will talk about vinegar, gari, wasabi and other condiments related to sushi, as well as Japanese dining etiquette. All instructors have a high level of English (or French, etc.) language skills, making the conversation very enjoyable.

The venue for the sushi experience is the Grand TJT, located in the Kikai Shinko Kaikan, a one-minute walk north of the Tokyo Tower.
It is a government-certified sanitary facility with water supply, drainage, refrigeration, etc.
In this class, you will learn how to cook sushi rice and how to mix vinegar for sushi. In this class, you will not only learn how to make sushi, but you will also learn the culture related to sushi.
You will also use real wasabi (a vegetable), an essential ingredient for sushi.
